R&E Foundation Scholarship Program

Scholarship Program
Diane Fox, Chairperson

Scholarships of $500 to $1,000 are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships from the Foundation are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic ability and career interest. For the 2010-2011 Academic Year, $12,000 in scholarships will be awarded.

The scholarship program is funded by proceeds of invested funds donated to the Foundation by the TSHP membership and our corporate supporters. Several additional scholarships have recently been endowed by contributions and as criteria are defined these will also be awarded.

All students receiving a scholarship have expressed an interest in a career in organized health-care settings.

2010-2011 Scholarship Program

The deadline for submitting applications for the 2010-2011 academic year is February 28, 2010. Applicants will be notified of the decision of the Board of Directors by the end of April, 2010. 

APPLICATION RULES

1. Submit the following to the TSHP R&E Foundation by February 28, 2010.
   • Completed application form
   • Letter of application explaining how you meet the scholarship criteria, your future pharmacy practice goals, and your philosophy of pharmacy practice.
   • Copy of your latest grade report verifying your current G.P.A.
   • Proof of residency requirements for El Paso, Gene Lake, and Central Texas Scholarships
   • Three letters of reference.
      
2. All required application materials must be postmarked by the deadline, incomplete applications may not be considered.
    
3. The TSHP R&E Foundation Scholarship Committee will determine selection of scholarship recipients. All decisions are final.
    
4. Scholarship recipients must provide a photograph and short biography for publication in the TSHP R&E Foundation Newsletter prior to distribution of scholarship monies.
